Lieutenant Governor Sinha Bolsters Kashmir Security After Recent Attack

In a decisive move to address security concerns following the recent Ganderbal terror attack, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, convened a high-level meeting in Srinagar. The meeting, attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, and other senior officials, focused on the security and development of all districts in the Kashmir division.
The review, held in response to the attack that claimed the lives of a doctor, a designer, and five construction workers, urged the police to bolster security around key infrastructure and construction sites in the Union Territory. LG Sinha highlighted the significance of security audits and called for continuous checkpoints, increased night patrols, and enhanced area control. He underscored the necessity of maintaining a robust security and intelligence grid and executing coordinated operations with the army to combat terrorism effectively.
Additional Director General of Police Vijay Kumar and Inspector General of Police (Kashmir) Vidhi Kumar Birdi were present at the meeting. Amid strategies to strengthen security, Sinha announced financial aid of Rs 6 lakh for each bereaved family, with further monetary support from APCO Infratech. Following his site visit to Gagangir, Sinha reiterated the need for firm action against terror elements and those who assist them, emphasizing total dismantlement of the terror network.
