Tripura to Boost Ayurvedic Medicine with New Funding and College Plans

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday revealed the state government's decision to allocate Rs 1.50 crore toward the procurement of Ayurvedic medicines. During the state-level observance of Ayurvedic Day in Agartala, he highlighted interest from the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Foundation in setting up an Ayurvedic college in Tripura.
CM Saha, who also holds the Health Minister portfolio, noted the significant advancements in Ayurvedic treatments within the state, mentioning facilities such as an outpatient department and a 50-bed Ayurvedic Hospital. He discussed the plans to establish a college for Ayurvedic or Homeopathy studies, supported by Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, emphasizing ongoing efforts to verify the foundation's credentials before moving forward.
The Chief Minister underscored the importance of health in utilizing human resources efficiently and announced plans to enhance healthcare infrastructure with a health hub and a super-specialty hospital. Ayurvedic medicines, funded by the newly sanctioned amount, will be distributed free of charge to the populace, Saha confirmed.
