In a bold move ahead of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced the 'Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana'. This scheme aims to provide temple priests and gurudwara granthis a monthly honorarium of about Rs 18,000.
Following the announcement, priests from across Delhi congregated at Kejriwal's residence, expressing satisfaction and urging swift implementation. Mishra Prasad Mishra from Sanatan Dharam Mandir conveyed optimism, noting the financial relief this scheme promises.
Others, like the priest from Pracheen Hanuman Mandir, highlighted the importance of targeting financially struggling religious sites, stressing the necessity for equitable distribution of funds to truly benefit the needy.
