On the significant occasion of Magh Purnima, the sacred Bhasma aarti was conducted at Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Wednesday morning. Thousands of devotees gathered to receive blessings and have darshan of Baba Mahakal, who was ornately decorated and worshipped with aarti while prayers were offered for happiness and prosperity.

Chanting 'Baba Mahakal' on Magh Purnima is esteemed for its virtue, as Lord Shiva, referred to as Mahakal, symbolizes the eternal and timeless. A first-time visitor expressed emotional awe, noting the perceived power in the deity's eyes and seeking familial blessings. Another devotee noted the holiness of months like Kartik and Maghi, during which God is believed to manifest on Earth, prompting pilgrims to visit sacred sites like Maha Kumbh for blessings.

Devotees also engaged in the ritualistic holy dip at Shipra River's Ram Ghat, with a massive congregation gathered at Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh. Official reports stated that over 48.83 million devotees have participated in the ritual so far. Similar rituals took place in Ayodhya's Saryu river, with many devotees visiting the Shree Ram Temple thereafter. The arrangements were praised, as noted by attendee Monika during her interaction with ANI. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath supervised the arrangements from his office, ensuring smooth conduct of the 'snan' at Sangam.
