Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his commendation for Balrampur Chini Mills Limited during the stone-laying ceremony of the nation's inaugural biopolymer plant in Lakhimpur Kheri. The company has committed to a significant Rs 2,850 crore investment with the state government, marking a first-of-its-kind development in India.
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi highlighted the importance of this investment as a key step towards realizing the vision of 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'. He emphasized the environmental benefits offered by the project, noting bioplastic products like disposable bottles that naturally degrade within months.
The Chief Minister also underscored the economic impact, outlining the job creation prospects for thousands of youths and stressing the plant's zero liquid discharge policy to safeguard the environment. He acknowledged Balrampur Chini Mills' efforts to ensure timely payments to sugarcane farmers as part of their operational ethics.
