In Rajasthan's Dausa jail, a convict allegedly issued a death threat to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, initiating an investigation into potential internal collusion, according to authorities. The suspect, identified as Rinku or Ranwa, is imprisoned under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Inspector General of Jail Vikram Singh is spearheading the probe.

Jawahar Singh Bedham, the State Home Minister, stated that swift police action led to the convict's arrest soon after the call was traced to the jail. Bedham emphasized that the inquiry would determine how the inmate acquired a mobile phone, suggesting that another jail officer may be implicated.

This incident echoes a similar threat last July from Shyalawas Jail in Dausa, where police confiscated nine mobile phones. ASP Lalsot Lokesh Sonwal noted that the ongoing investigation may reveal further internal malfeasance within jail operations, aiming to prevent future vulnerabilities.
