External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar underscored the importance of global healthcare cooperation on Saturday, declaring healthcare a fundamental right rather than a privilege at the 12th International Health Dialogue conference.
He highlighted India's initiatives, such as the Ayushman Bharat program for health insurance, promoting digital health infrastructure, and supporting traditional medicine practices. Jaishankar also called for international partnerships to enhance patient safety and ensure affordable healthcare access globally.
The minister pointed out India's efforts in medical outreach, citing aid in medical supplies to crisis areas and training healthcare professionals in Africa. He reiterated the need for global collaboration to tackle the shortage of healthcare workers and improve healthcare systems worldwide.
