President of India Draupadi Murmu recently paid homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by visiting the Statue of Unity, the tallest statue in the world, located in Ekatnagar, Narmada district. Accompanied by Governor Acharya Devvratji and Minister Jagdish Vishwakarma, Murmu laid floral tributes at the iconic monument.

The President received a warm welcome from the tribals of Sagbara and Tilakwada, who performed traditional dances like Movi and Holi in her honor. During her visit, Murmu was briefed on the historical significance of Patel's efforts in India's unification and the country's journey to independence.

The visit also included a tour of the Sardar Sarovar Dam, where the dignitaries admired the scenic beauty of the Narmada River basin. The President's visit, coinciding with Mahashivaratri, highlighted the importance of Patel's legacy, as she learned about the construction feats behind the 182-meter statue dedicated to the architect of modern India.
