In a significant push for educational reform, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu outlined his government's commitment to enhancing educational facilities across Himachal Pradesh. Speaking at the annual function of Rajiv Gandhi Government College, Shimla, Sukhu emphasized the importance of quality education accessible to every societal section.
He announced the introduction of co-education in senior secondary schools at district headquarters from the next academic session, aiming to promote equitable education for all. Furthermore, Sukhu revealed that Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding Schools equipped with modern amenities, such as swimming pools and indoor stadiums, will become operational in each Assembly constituency.
Criticizing the previous administration for prioritizing electoral gains over educational quality, Sukhu vowed to elevate the state's education to global standards in the next five years. Plans include the closure of underperforming institutions, reallocating students to better-equipped ones with government-covered commuting costs.
