On Monday, Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha convened a high-level meeting to review the implementation of three recently enacted major criminal laws. The gathering in Agartala included crucial stakeholders from departments such as Home, Police, Law, Prosecution, Forensics, Health, and Prisons.

The Chief Minister highlighted the necessity of a seamless transition to the new legal framework, directing involved departments to ensure effective coordination for its successful application. Training and capacity-building for law enforcement and judicial officers were stressed as essential for the new law's enforcement.

During the meeting, department officials detailed their readiness and addressed challenges linked to infrastructure, manpower, and awareness of the changes in the criminal justice system. Strategies to boost the efficiency of legal procedures and enforcement mechanisms under the new legislation were deliberated.
