The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) took center stage at the 39th edition of AAHAR 2025, a premier international food and hospitality fair organized by the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO). Held from March 4th to 8th, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, the event marked a significant milestone in reinforcing India’s leadership in the agricultural and processed food sector.
India’s Agricultural and Processed Food Strength on Display
APEDA facilitated the participation of 95 exhibitors, including Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), entrepreneurs, and leading manufacturers from 17 States and Union Territories across India. These included agricultural powerhouses such as Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, along with Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Jammu & Kashmir. This diverse representation highlighted the country’s vast agricultural potential and strong processing capabilities, fostering collaboration and innovation in the sector.
Promoting India’s Growing Plant-Based Food Industry
A key highlight of APEDA’s participation was the ‘India Plant-Based Foods Show’, organized by the Plant-Based Food Industry Association at AAHAR 2025. APEDA Chairman, Shri Abhishek Dev, addressed the gathering, emphasizing India's expanding footprint in agricultural and processed food exports. He underscored the importance of exploring plant-based exports as a sustainable alternative to align with global environmental goals.

APEDA’s Pavilion displayed an extensive range of organic and processed foods, showcasing India’s expertise in food innovation and quality. Exhibitors presented a variety of offerings, including:

The APEDA Pavilion emerged as a one-stop destination for industry professionals to explore India's growing food processing sector, offering insights into innovative ingredients and export-quality food products.
Culinary Excellence: Live Cooking Demonstrations
A vibrant wet sampling area at the APEDA Pavilion attracted significant footfall. A renowned Indian chef and his team conducted live cooking demonstrations, preparing and showcasing a variety of nutritious Indian delicacies. Attendees had the opportunity to experience authentic millet-based dishes, such as:
- Millet Mathri Pie
- Ragi and Mango Smoothie
- Foxtail Corn Risotto
- Aromatic Biryani
- Wholesome Brown Rice Porridge
This interactive session provided an immersive experience of India’s rich culinary heritage and innovative approach to food sustainability.
Grand Inauguration and Industry Recognition
The exhibition was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Shri Chirag Paswan, in the presence of industry leaders, innovators, and global experts. The APEDA Pavilion was formally inaugurated on March 4th, 2025, by APEDA Chairman, Shri Abhishek Dev, alongside Dr. Alka Rao, Advisor (Science & Standards & Regulations) from FSSAI, and other senior officials. The Pavilion reinforced India’s commitment to delivering export-ready, high-quality, and sustainable food products to global markets.
