In a tragic incident, three labourers were killed after an unknown vehicle ran over them in the village of Jalgaon Khurd, Maharashtra, late Monday night. The incident was confirmed by Jalgaon Superintendent of Police, Maheshwar Reddy, during a statement on Tuesday.

The accident occurred near NH 53, where a group of seven to eight workers was engaged in repair and whitening work on a service road between Jalgaon and Bhusaval. According to SP Reddy, the labourers had been working until late evening, after which three of them decided to rest on the roadside.

Naseerabad police received the alert about the fatal incident on Tuesday morning and subsequently launched an investigation. The victims were transported to the civil hospital for further examination, and efforts are ongoing to identify the vehicle responsible. Police are inquiring with the contractor to determine which construction-related vehicles were present in the vicinity at the time of the incident.
