India's pharmaceutical sector has made a significant mark globally, ranking 11th in terms of export value for 2023, contributing 3% to the global market, according to Union Minister Anupriya Patel.

Addressing Rajya Sabha, Patel shared insights based on a Bain and Company report, emphasizing the country's bolstered quality control mechanisms overseen by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Further, she pointed out the role of the Pharma Sahi Daam app under the National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Policy, delivering transparency in drug pricing for consumers with no forthcoming changes in price fixation procedures.
