At the heart of Jharkhand's Hazaribagh, a Ram Navami procession on Wednesday turned tense as two groups clashed, leading to a brief episode of stone pelting. Officials confirmed the situation at Jhanda Chowk is now under control.
Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay detailed the incident, where one group's music was contested by another, sparking a scuffle that law enforcement quickly defused, keeping the peace intact. Additional forces remain on standby to ensure order.
Previously, in February, a similar confrontation had arisen over sound systems in Hazaribagh's Ichak area, underscored by Union Minister Sanjay Seth's critique of increased violence during festivals. Seth attributed the disturbances to Bangladeshi infiltrators impacting local demographics.
