In a pivotal crackdown, security forces uncovered a militant hideout in Jammu and Kashmir's Namblan forest, Baramulla. The operation's success, involving the Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF, was marked by the recovery of a significant weapons cache, prompting an ongoing investigation.
The operation resulted in the seizure of an IED with a fuse, plastic explosives, ammunition, and other weaponry from the forest hideaway. An FIR was filed at Sheeri Police Station as inquiries continue. Concurrently, DGP Nalin Prabhat visited Hiranagar, Kathua, where intelligence-led operations are underway to root out terrorist presence.
Following credible inputs, a joint effort by Jammu and Kashmir Police and Rising Star Corps was initiated in Saniyal Hiranagar, while Kupwara Police undertook targeted raids against separatists. Investigations have ensued, focusing on incriminating materials linked to proscribed groups, under strict legal observation and multiple FIRs under UAPA.
