India's United Front: Mock Drills and Strikes Against Terrorism

In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, India ramps up security with widespread mock drills and precision strikes. West Bengal's Chief Minister stands united with national efforts against terrorism, while mock drills in major cities like Mumbai and Delhi aim to prepare for evolving threats.

In a show of nationwide unity, a comprehensive civil defence mock drill was held at Desun Hospital in Kolkata on Thursday evening. Expressing her solidarity with the nation's stand against terrorism, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee affirmed support following the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Banerjee revealed that discussions were convened involving key officials from border regions and central departments. She emphasized the state's commitment to align closely with national efforts in combating terrorism. Concurrently, a similar drill engaged students and teachers at a school in Siliguri, involving key security personnel.

Additional mock drills took place at strategic sites in Mumbai, including the Maidan and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. These exercises are part of a broader directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs advising states to assess preparedness against complex threats. In line with this stance, 'Operation Sindoor' was launched by the Indian Armed Forces, targeting terrorist camps in response to the Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 lives.
