Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, One of the eminent leader in the history of the Indian freedom movement, Netaji Subash Chandra Bose was born on Jan 23, 1897. The honorific Netaji the name granted to him in the early 1940s by the Indian soldiers. On the 122nd birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose, here are some mind-blowing facts about him.

1. Bose came in 2nd in his matriculation exams in 1913. He completed his B.A. in Philosophy with a First Class score in 1918.

2. Bose was expelled from Presidency College for assaulting Professor Oaten for his anti-India comment.

3. After graduation, Bose went to England to appear in the Indian Civil Services exams and secure 4th position on the merit list.

4. In the year 1938 and 1939, Bose was elected as the president of the Indian National Congress.

5. With the help of Japan, Bose forms the Azad Hind Fauj that fought the Allied forces in South East Asia.

6. Mahatma Gandhi called him the "patriot of patriots".

7. During the period of 1921-1941, Bose was imprisoned eleven times in various jails in India.

8. During his stay in Berlin in the year 1943, Bose established the Free India Center and Azad Hind Radio station.

9. Bose married an Austrian woman, Emily in Berlin and they gave birth to a daughter, Anita Bose.

10. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at Kolkata, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island, formerly Ross Island and many other institutions in India are named after him.
