Speaking to reporters, Abdullah mentioned that the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, convened two significant meetings, engaging both political parties and civil society to discuss arrangements.
Abdullah expressed optimism about the yatra's success, stating, 'We have made the necessary arrangements to facilitate the pilgrims. The LG chaired two meetings, one with political parties and another with civil society. All necessary security arrangements have been made, and we eagerly await the arrival of the pilgrims. The yatra will kick off from Jammu on July 2, and our prayers are with those participating.' Enthusiasm among devotees remains high, with many visiting centers for registration despite past security incidents.
The commitment to safety is further demonstrated by the Central Reserve Police Force's enhanced security measures along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44). Security has been heightened with additional surveillance, dog squads, and intensified patrols, particularly along sensitive stretches such as the Udhampur sector. The annual pilgrimage begins on July 3, 2025, with routes via both Baltal and Pahalgam, promising a secure and spiritually enriching experience for the first batch of pilgrims set to depart on July 2.
