Goa Shipyard Limited has achieved another significant milestone by launching 'ATAL', the fifth in a series of eight Fast Patrol Vessels for the Indian Coast Guard. The vessel's ceremonial launch took place on Tuesday, receiving the traditional blessing from Shilpa Agarwal while dignitaries and officials, including Rozy Agarwal, IDAS, and PIFA, witnessed the event.
The dignitaries, including IG Sudhir Sahni, highlighted the vessel's state-of-the-art specifications, including a length of 52 meters and a width of 8 meters. These dimensions enable the vessel to effectively oversee key operations from coastal patrol to anti-smuggling efforts. This development is a testament to Goa Shipyard's commitment to indigenously grown defense capabilities.
The launch marks a critical step toward advancing the nation's maritime security and sustaining local economies by facilitating substantial employment for local industries and MSMEs. Chief Guest Rozy Agarwal lauded the endeavor as a stride toward achieving self-reliance in defense manufacturing while fulfilling essential maritime security requirements.
