The Election Commission of India (ECI) disclosed that Enumeration Forms for 7.24 crore electors were collected during Bihar's Special Intensive Revision of the voter list. These forms were part of the eight crore distributed and downloaded, highlighting a gap attributed to various factors.
According to the ECI, reasons for the gap include electors who transferred to other states, those not found, and individuals who didn't submit forms by the deadline. Additionally, discrepancies arise from 22 lakh deceased electors, 36 lakh who have relocated, and 7 lakh with multiple registrations.
The goal of the Special Intensive Revision is to ensure all eligible voters are included and no ineligible ones are mistakenly registered. Despite the lack of claims from political parties on the draft roll, 6,257 claims and objections have been received directly from electors.
