The Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) is receiving a major overhaul as part of a stringent crackdown on irregularities, spearheaded by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Medical Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar.

FIRs have been lodged against three pharmacies and one hospital, while 473 personnel from various departments face actions. Disciplinary measures are pursued against eight allopathic and two ayurvedic doctors, with 12 employees suspended for misusing the scheme. This response follows an audit by the Finance Department and persistent complaints regarding stakeholder misconduct.

To revamp RGHS operations, a robust Anti-Fraud Unit is being established, alongside updated guidelines and SOPs. Technological advancements such as e-prescription and real-time monitoring will be implemented. Complaint resolution infrastructure is also expanding, including a centralised system and district-level units. Minister Khimsar emphasizes transparency and technical reform, vowing legal action against wrongdoers.
