India's aspirations to become a global leader in medical technology were prominently featured at the 11th Asia Pacific MedTech Forum in New Delhi. Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilisers, Jagat Prakash Nadda, in a video address, underscored the critical role the MedTech sector plays in transforming healthcare access and affordability across the nation.

Nadda highlighted key focus areas including advanced manufacturing and integration into global supply chains. The event theme of "Swastha Bharat: A Healthier India, Together" resonated with Prime Minister Modi's vision for a developed India by 2047, aiming for innovation, inclusivity, and global competitiveness. Top government officials laid out strategies to bolster domestic MedTech capabilities, with initiatives like 100% FDI in medical devices and formation of councils to enhance exports.

The two-day forum also saw healthcare leaders discuss crucial policies such as the National Medical Devices Policy, 2023, and the establishment of Medical Devices Parks. APACMed, representing over 350 major medical device companies, emphasized the importance of harmonizing regulatory standards to grow market access, aiming to support India's goal of becoming a major player on the world stage.
