In a significant step towards women's empowerment, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated 502 crèches as part of the 'Seva Pakhwara' campaign on Thursday. This initiative aims to help mothers pursue their professional dreams by alleviating childcare concerns.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Gupta revealed ongoing efforts to launch a scheme providing financial aid up to Rs 10 crore via the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector for women. She fondly recalled her personal struggles balancing work and childcare, highlighting the importance of support systems like family and childcare services.
Gupta also stressed the emotional role of crèche workers, requesting they be addressed as 'mausi' (aunt) to symbolize their integral role in children's lives. Her praise extended to Prime Minister Modi for his initiatives prioritizing women's safety and empowerment, recounting his decisive leadership during a military operation.
