Poland, a NATO member, has signaled its readiness to defend its airspace decisively against intrusions, while adopting a cautious stance towards ambiguous threats, stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Monday. This announcement follows Estonia's claim of a Russian airspace violation last Friday, prompting calls among NATO members for a robust response to perceived provocations by Moscow.

Russia countered these claims, describing them as provocations aimed at heightening tension. This denial comes after more than 20 Russian drones reportedly breached Polish airspace earlier in September, along with allegations of Russian fighter jets entering the Baltic Sea's Petrobaltic platform safety zone.

Highlighting the complexity of the situation, Tusk emphasized careful deliberation in response to non-violation flights, to avoid unnecessary conflict escalation. He stressed the importance of coordinated NATO support in addressing such incidents effectively.
