The Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) recently hosted a unique Garba event centered around Operation Sindoor, marking a significant moment in the maritime sector's embrace of India's 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' initiative. DPA Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh applauded the operation’s success, emphasizing its role in re-establishing India’s identity on the global stage.

Operation Sindoor, completed a few months back by the Indian Army, was a testament to India's commitment to self-reliance, with sacrifices made by many soldiers. Singh noted its alignment with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, 'Ports and sea trade are critical to our self-reliant initiative.' The DPA's recent collaboration with IIT BHU for a workshop on 'Hydrogen - Next Generation Fuel' further underscored this effort.

The workshop, held at the DPA's Centre of Excellence in Gandhidham, illustrated the significance of partnerships between ports, academia, and industry for advancing a greener maritime future. Topics revolved around hydrogen’s potential as a clean fuel and its role in achieving India's Net Zero 2050 goals, drawing attention from major ports, industry leaders, and experts.
