On Police Commemoration Day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid heartfelt tributes to the police personnel who sacrificed their lives while fulfilling their duty. In a message shared on X, Dhami saluted their bravery and acknowledged their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and safety in the nation.

October 21 holds significant importance as it marks the day in 1959 when ten Indian policemen were killed by the Chinese Army at Hot Springs, Ladakh. Since 1962, this day has been observed as Police Commemoration Day to honor their sacrifice and the valor of police personnel nationwide.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, speaking at the National Police Memorial, underscored the crucial partnership between the Army and police in ensuring national security. Drawing on his experiences as both Home and Defence Minister, Singh praised both forces' dedication, emphasizing their shared spirit of safeguarding the nation against all enemies.
