Piyush Gupta, former DBS Bank CEO, has been named chairman of Temasek India, a unit of Singapore's Temasek Holdings. Gupta, who served as DBS's global chief for 16 years, will assume the role on December 1, offering advisory support to local teams.
Temasek recently announced its India investments have exceeded USD 50 billion, with plans to explore USD 4 billion in new opportunities. Gupta will collaborate with India head Ravi Lambah on strategies, aiming to foster partnerships with businesses and engage with the Indian government.
Gupta and Temasek's executive director, Dilhan Pillay, emphasize leveraging Gupta's insights and industry connections to enhance the firm's presence in India and beyond. Gupta expressed enthusiasm for driving growth and deepening existing partnerships within the region.
