In a heart-wrenching incident, five people, including two children, tragically lost their lives in a road accident on Saturday morning at Kotekal village in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. The victims were from Kolar district in Karnataka, confirmed Sub-Inspector Srinivas of Yemmiganuru Rural Police Station.
The group, consisting of two men, one woman, and two children, was traveling from Chikkahosalli village in Kolar to the Raghavendra Swamy Temple in Mantralayam. The vehicle they were in collided head-on with another car, resulting in all five dying instantly due to the impact. The incident left the occupants of the other vehicle injured, who were quickly taken to a nearby hospital.
Authorities have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the collision, as further information is anticipated. The tragic event has cast a pall of gloom, reflecting the urgent need for road safety measures.
