Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant Faces Power Loss Challenges
The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine temporarily lost all off-site power, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency. It was reconnected to a power line after a half-hour outage. However, a more powerful 750 kV line remains disconnected, raising concerns about energy stability.
The International Atomic Energy Agency reported a temporary power outage at Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi confirmed the incident occurred overnight.
Although the facility was reconnected to a 330-kilovolt power line shortly after, it initially lost all off-site power for approximately 30 minutes.
Challenges persist as a crucial 750 kV line remains disconnected, spotlighting energy stability concerns for the plant.
