Soybean variety 'Swarna Vasundhara' and snow pea 'Swarna Tripti', developed by ICAR-Research Complex in Ranchi, are capturing national and global attention. Known for their taste and nutritional benefits, these varieties mark a significant achievement after three decades of extensive research.
The introduction of 'Swarna Vasundhara' across 14 states, including Jharkhand, addresses nutritional deficiencies and ensures livelihood security among farmers. Principal scientist R S Pan indicates that this advancement is aligned with the national goal of pulse self-sufficiency.
Dr. Raushan Kumar and other farmers have reported high yields and profits from cultivating these varieties, underscoring their economic and health benefits. These breeds also offer potential for value-added products like soya milk and paneer, supporting local agribusiness development.
