Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has unveiled plans for a groundbreaking law that will see a deduction of 10 to 15 per cent from the salaries of government employees who fail to provide care for their parents. Speaking at an event in Hyderabad, Reddy indicated that this initiative would directly support the families of employees hailing from impoverished backgrounds.
The Chief Minister noted that if selected government employees, after marrying, neglect their parental responsibilities, a portion of their salary would be redirected to their parents. He emphasized the importance of enacting this law, highlighting the need for community care among government employees who come predominantly from poor backgrounds.
Additionally, the Telangana government is enhancing its 'Pranam Scheme,' aimed at supporting neglected parents by bringing them into daycare centers. Here, essential amenities will be provided, underscoring the government's role as a supportive family figure. The initiative aligns with Reddy's emphasis on acknowledging the sacrifices parents make for their children's welfare.
