In a tragic incident in Greater Noida, a 27-year-old man lost his life after his car plunged into a drain near Sector 150. The victim, identified as Yuvraj from Noida's Sector-150, struggled for nearly two hours before succumbing. His family claims that prompt action could have saved him, alleging severe administrative negligence.
The occurrence took place under the Knowledge Park Police Station's jurisdiction on the night of January 16-17. Yuvraj's father, Rajkumar Mehta, expressed anguish over the lack of rescue measures, noting that the crowd gathered at the scene largely watched or filmed the tragedy unfold. Mehta criticized officials for the absence of divers and inadequate response during the rescue operation.
The Noida Authority has initiated an investigation to pinpoint responsibility, according to Satish Pal, Additional Chief Executive Officer. Authorities aim to reveal the land ownership and maintenance accountability to prevent similar incidents. Joint Commissioner of Police Rajeev Narain Mishra labeled the episode as 'very tragic,' highlighting the immediate but ultimately futile rescue attempts that faced challenging visibility conditions.
