They argue that the agreement, which lowers tariffs on American goods, could allow a surge of subsidized US agricultural products into India.

This development has sparked concerns about the potential devastation of India's farm sector, where a massive portion of the workforce and population are dependent. The SKM has announced a campaign against the government, culminating in a general strike on February 12.
