In a fiery statement, Haryana Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda has brought serious accusations against the BJP government, alleging deceitful tactics towards farmers. Hooda claims the central and state governments have reduced the weight of urea fertiliser bags while maintaining the price, to the detriment of farmers.
Originally, a urea bag weighed 50 kg, which was first reduced to 45 kg, and now further to 40 kg, according to Hooda. Despite the weight reduction, the price remains unchanged at Rs 254, which Hooda argues is a tactic to exploit farmers. He claims that farmers are receiving less product for the same price, adding to their financial burdens.
Hooda's criticism extends to the national fiscal policy, which he claims ignores the plight of farmers. The Union Budget did not address farmer loans, compensation, or the Minimum Support Price (MSP). He accuses the current policies of financially weakening farmers, highlighting ongoing struggles with fertilisers, seeds, and insurance costs.
