In Bangalore, several hotels and restaurants are grappling with an acute shortage of commercial gas cylinders, a situation exacerbated by rising energy costs and geopolitical tensions. This scarcity threatens their operations, with establishments expressing concerns over potential shutdowns once existing stock is depleted.

P C Rao, Honorary President of the Bangalore Hotels Association, emphasized that while some hotels still have gas supplies, many are struggling to continue operations. To conserve fuel, they have resorted to altering menus by eliminating high-consumption items, hoping for a swift restocking of gas supplies.

The shortage, stemming from supply disruptions in West Asia, underscores urgent calls for government intervention. Hotelier Chandrashekhar Hebbar warned of the broader implications, including disruption of catering services and customer inconvenience, urging authorities to resolve the crisis promptly.
