NavPrakriti, a pioneering lithium-ion battery recycling company, announced its strategic collaboration with NASH Energy on Tuesday. This partnership is set to ensure the responsible end-of-life management of all batteries produced by NASH Energy, including production scrap, underscoring their joint commitment to sustainability, resource security, and regulatory leadership, according to a company statement.

Akhilesh Bagaria, Co-Founder of NavPrakriti, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, "Our collaboration with NASH Energy goes beyond regulatory compliance; it's about building a foundation for responsible battery material recovery and circularity at scale. Together, we are driving industry best practices and helping actualize India's net-zero ambitions."

The existing NavPrakriti facility in Serampore, recognized as eastern India's largest and most advanced lithium-ion battery recycling plant, can process up to 1,000 tonnes of used batteries per month. Plans are underway to expand this capacity to 24,000 tonnes annually, in response to the burgeoning demand for lithium-ion batteries, expected to leap from 4 GWh in 2023 to nearly 139 GWh by 2035 in India, highlighting the need for strong recycling infrastructure and adherence to the Battery Waste Management Rules.
