Morocco is experiencing significant fluctuations in fuel prices as the nation grapples with external pressures and the necessity to import energy. According to the energy ministry, Morocco currently holds enough diesel and petrol reserves to last for 51 and 55 days, respectively.
Coal and gas supplies have been secured until the end of June, ensuring some stability in the country's energy sector. These measures are crucial as fuel prices saw a steep 30% increase following recent tensions in the Gulf region.
In response to these challenges, the Moroccan government has reintroduced subsidies for professional transporters, including taxis, buses, and trucks, to keep transportation costs stable and support the economy during this period of instability.
