A tragic incident unfolded in Lodhi Wali Gali as a house fire claimed the life of 40-year-old Yogesh. The fatality occurred due to suffocation from a blaze apparently sparked by a leaking gas cylinder, police revealed on Friday.

The incident erupted late Thursday night when a matchstick was mistakenly lit in the presence of a gas leak, leading to the uncontrolled spread of the fire. Emergency responders from the local fire department and police arrived swiftly, yet unfortunately, it was too late to save the victim.

City Superintendent of Police Ayush Vikram Singh confirmed that an official complaint has been lodged by the victim's brother. The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation in collaboration with the fire department to determine the incident's exact cause. A postmortem has been ordered for further insights.
