The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission has announced a freeze on electricity tariffs for the fiscal year 2026-27, offering relief to more than 1.75 crore consumers statewide. This decision followed a review of annual revenue and tariff proposals submitted by Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ajmer's power distribution companies.
The regulatory body has endorsed several rationalization measures suggested by the discoms, which aim to make electricity more affordable and encourage modern energy practices.
Among these measures are the reduction of minimum charges for medium industrial power users and the removal of specific tariffs burdening electric vehicle charging stations, along with exemptions for daytime street-lighting tariffs.
