The Uttarakhand Police Headquarters has ramped up security and logistical measures to ensure the safe passage of pilgrims during the ongoing Char Dham Yatra. Multi-layered arrangements are in place to facilitate smooth movement and organized management of the visiting devotees, according to a statement made on Sunday.
Superintendent of Police in Rudraprayag, Niharika Tomar, took a hands-on approach by personally inspecting the Kedarnath pedestrian route on foot. Covering key locations from Kedarnath Base Camp to Gaurikund, Tomar assessed security, traffic measures, and overall pilgrim facilitation efforts. Her engagement with both police personnel and pilgrims aimed to identify real-time issues and introduce necessary improvements.
In her inspections, Tomar emphasized the importance of prioritizing pilgrim safety, streamlining movement, and enhancing emergency response capabilities. She directed in-charges to maintain constant vigilance and implement effective crowd management tactics at sensitive spots. The police presence underscores their dedication to maintaining a secure and reassuring environment, even as the pilgrimage season coincides with significant religious events at shrines across India.
