GE Vernova Powers Forward: MEIL's Upper Sileru Hydropower Leap

GE Vernova has received an order for nine 150 MW pumped-storage units for Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited's (MEIL) Upper Sileru hydropower plant in Andhra Pradesh. The 1.35-GW project is set to be completed by 2030, marking it as one of India's largest pumped storage projects.

GE Vernova has announced a major order from Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) for nine 150 megawatt pumped-storage units. These units will be installed at the upcoming 1.35-GW Upper Sileru hydropower plant in Andhra Pradesh.

Set for completion by 2030, the Upper Sileru project will rank among India's largest pumped-storage hydropower facilities. The project's scope includes an array of responsibilities from GE Vernova: design, engineering, manufacturing, and more.

Frederic Ribieras, CEO of Hydro Power at GE Vernova, emphasized the importance of such projects in stabilizing energy grids and supporting renewable initiatives worldwide. This initiative is part of a broader movement towards sustainable energy solutions.
