South Korea Strengthens Trade Ties with the US and Canada
South Korean Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan is set to meet U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick to discuss a $350 billion Korean investment in the U.S. Kim will also address bilateral trade issues in Congress and explore energy cooperation and submarine supply with Canadian officials.

South Korean Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan is gearing up for high-level talks with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick as part of a concerted effort to expand Korean investment in the United States.
Slated to arrive in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Kim aims to strengthen the $350 billion investment initiative planned under a trade agreement signed last year. Discussions will also involve U.S. lawmakers, focusing on resolving key bilateral trade challenges.
Prior to his U.S. visit, Kim is scheduled to stop over in Canada to meet with officials including Industry Minister Melanie Joly and Energy Minister Tim Hodgson. These talks will center on energy collaboration and a grand initiative for Hanwha Group to supply Canada with submarines, a project valued over $12 billion.
