Tragedy Strikes: Cruise Boat Capsizes in Madhya Pradesh Dam
The body of a young boy was found after a cruise boat capsized in Bargi Dam, Jabalpur, bringing the death toll to 12. Search operations for a missing person continue, involving over 200 rescuers. The government has launched an investigation and suspended boat operations.

A tragic incident unfolded in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district when a cruise boat capsized in Bargi Dam, taking the lives of 12 individuals, including a 5-year-old boy whose body was recovered recently. The incident occurred last Thursday during a violent storm.
The ill-fated vessel, operated by the state tourism department and approximately 20 years old, sank with 43 individuals attempting to board according to CCTV footage. Of them, 28 passengers were rescued. Search operations continue aggressively for one missing person, utilizing over 200 rescue personnel including Army and disaster response divers.
In response, the state government has initiated a probe into the cause of the tragedy and immediately dismissed three crew members. Further, similar vessels have been prohibited from operating in the state until further notice.
