Fuel Rush Amid Baseless Shortage Rumors in Jharkhand

Rumors of a fuel shortage in Jharkhand's Dhanbad and Jamshedpur have led to panic buying, causing long queues at fuel stations. Authorities and representatives from oil companies clarified there's no shortage, urging the public to avoid misinformation and purchase fuel based solely on need.

In Jharkhand's cities of Dhanbad and Jamshedpur, fuel stations experienced an unprecedented rush as rumors of a petrol and diesel shortage spread. Local administrations stepped in, urging residents not to fall prey to misinformation and to desist from panic buying.

In response to the chaos, East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Piyush Pandey convened a meeting in Jamshedpur with key stakeholders including oil company representatives and petrol pump operators. They reassured the public that no shortage existed, emphasizing the importance of purchasing fuel based on necessity.

Meanwhile, in Dhanbad, Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan conducted a review meeting with petroleum company officials, who confirmed the regular supply of fuel. Despite heavy crowds and extended queues reported by SSP Prabhat Kumar, he appealed to the populace not to panic, asserting the stable availability of fuel in the district.
