A shocking case of domestic violence has emerged from Pune district, where a man working as a welder allegedly attacked his wife with brutal force, pouring floor cleaning acid on her private parts. The assault reportedly stemmed from his unfounded suspicions of her infidelity.
The incident occurred on April 20 in Uruli Kanchan but came to light only after the woman managed to flee to her parents' home and subsequently reported the crime to the police on May 15. She accused her husband of assaulting her in a fit of rage and barring her from seeking medical help.
Sachin Wangande, a senior inspector at Uruli Kanchan police station, stated that charges have been filed against the husband under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The incident highlights dire issues of domestic violence and the fear many victims face when seeking justice.
