Three men were booked for allegedly sexually harassing three young women students near a waterfall in Belthangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, police said on Thursday.The incident occurred on May 20 when the three students, who were pursuing their studies in Mangaluru, visited the waterfall. The victims resisted the advances, according to police.Local people present at the spot intervened, stopped the men, and alerted the Belthangady police station.

Three men were booked for allegedly sexually harassing three young women students near a waterfall in Belthangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, police said on Thursday.

The incident occurred on May 20 when the three students, who were pursuing their studies in Mangaluru, visited the waterfall. The accused allegedly behaved inappropriately and subjected them to sexual harassment. The victims resisted the advances, according to police.

Local people present at the spot intervened, stopped the men, and alerted the Belthangady police station. The police immediately took them into custody and registered a case against them at the Belthangady police station.

The accused have been identified as Abdul Khader Altaf (36), Faizal Adil (27) and Usman Safir (18), all hailing from Kasaragod in Kerala.

Police said further legal action will be taken against the accused as per law.
