Rajasthan cabinet on Friday approved the Rajasthan Industrial Development Policy-2026 aimed at positioning the state as a global industrial hub, with a focus on sectors like semiconductors, data centres, defence manufacturing and renewable energy.

Industry Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said the policy is based on four strategic pillars -- green growth, governance, growth and globalisation -- and targets expanding the state economy to USD 350 billion by 2028-29.

''The policy proposes incentives for semiconductor units, global capability centres (GCCs), logistics, warehousing, IT services, recycling plants and tourism-related industries, besides promoting sectors, including textiles, handicrafts, gems and jewellery, agro-processing and dairy,'' he said.

Rathore said the policy introduces self-certification, auto-renewal and deemed approval mechanisms under a single-window clearance system to ease industrial investments.

The cabinet chaired by CM Bhajanlal Sharma also approved amendments to the Rajasthan Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1996, allowing pensioners to submit life certificates through face authentication via mobile applications. Specially abled dependents will now need to furnish disability certificates only once instead of every three years.

In another decision, the cabinet approved allotment of land to industrial units including JK Cement and Dalmia Cement in Jaisalmer district for expansion projects expected to generate local employment.

The cabinet also reviewed preparations for the state-wide 'Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan-Jan Abhiyan' campaign to be held from May 25 to June 5 for water conservation and environmental awareness.
