Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has unveiled a statue of renowned matinee idol and former Chief Minister of erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, NT Rama Rao, in Hyderabad. The Chief Minister commemorated NTR as not just a political figure, but as an enduring inspiration that transcends political boundaries. By unveiling this statue, Revanth Reddy aims to honor a leader he greatly admires and whose legacy will be remembered across generations.

Expressing discontent over criticism regarding his decision to honor a rival political figure, CM Reddy emphasized that NT Rama Rao's leadership is admired nationwide, cutting across caste, religion, and regional lines. He highlighted NTR's role in nurturing numerous leaders, including former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, and criticized detractors for questioning the statue.

CM Revanth Reddy recalled NTR’s significant policy initiatives, such as the abolition of the Patel-Patwari system and the introduction of the subsidized rice scheme, which continue to benefit the impoverished. He also acknowledged the contributions of Dr. Ambedkar and Indira Gandhi, likening them to ‘3 Gems’ whose legacies have shaped the nation. The Chief Minister reiterated his government's commitment to women’s empowerment, agricultural advancement, and the development of Hyderabad as a global city.
