In a stunning revelation, Moochekkal Abdul Majeed, resident of Kalikavu, has emerged as a symbol of governmental procedural delays, receiving the appointment order for a PSC-qualified position 18 years after securing his spot on the rank list. By the time this notice arrived, Majeed had already surpassed the retirement age.

The ordeal began in 2005 when Majeed cleared the Kerala PSC examination for the role of Part-Time Junior Language Teacher (Arabic) under Category No. 229/2005. Despite being listed in the subsequent rank list, his anticipated appointment was deferred for years, only to receive an official directive from Thrissur PSC in April 2026. Records indicated he was 60, even though he claims the appointment should've been finalized by 2010.

A unique twist surfaces with his SSLC book listing his birth date incorrectly as May 27, 1966, instead of the actual May 27, 1967. Majeed has sought intervention from Education Minister N Shamsudheen, requesting a rectification to extend his eligibility, backed by appeals from his family and local residents.
