Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla To Kick Off CPA North Zone Conference In Chandigarh

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is set to inaugurate the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region Zone-II North Zone Conference on Monday in Chandigarh. The two-day event will address the role of society and lawmakers in achieving the vision of `Viksit Bharat 2047` and feature eminent political figures.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is poised to inaugurate the second Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone-II North Zone Conference at the Haryana Legislative Assembly in Chandigarh, set for Monday. This significant event will see addresses from prominent figures including Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mahipal Dhanda, who will also play key roles in the valedictory session.

The conference's primary focus will center on the theme, 'Role of Aware Society and Legislators in Realising Future Challenges and Goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.' Scheduled to conclude with a valedictory speech by the Governor of Haryana, Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh, on June 9, it promises thought-provoking discussions and valuable insights into the region's future.

This gathering will unite Presiding Officers like Chairmen, Speakers, Deputies, MLAs, and MLCs from the CPA India Region Zone-II's five legislatures. Additionally, Union Ministers, MPs, and former Haryana Legislative Assembly leaders will be present, with invitations extended to Presiding Officers from several other states. Organized as the second annual Zone-II conference post the 2024 CPA restructuring, the event aspires to bolster parliamentary cooperation and serve as a platform for sharing legislative practices to realize the 2047 vision.
